LOVE... is a greatest gift that GOD has given to human being..Imagine a world without it, ughhh..as u can see lately in this horrible world, too much fights, racism, wars. There's always reason to fight for.o(╯□╰)o
But in this month and so on, could u stop it and spread the love.
Few months ago, I attracted to watch many reality shows from Korean then I stucked in "SNSD and Dangerous Boys". Well, I figure it out what kind of show it is.

I found it interesting, there's too many problems when u're at teen age. In this case, of course 'The boys' in their young age still search for their images and they're lack of purpose, no vision. Some psychologists participated too in their case... The basic problems are they had 'scar' in their heart, and they keep it so it'll bigger and they're not forgive themselves,parents,friends whom made that scar. That show revealed it, and step by step they are cured and with the same goals they have to achieve (coordination, vision, passion).
It's fascinating to look at their mentally growth..There's no limitation for us to change better and better.

Holaaa everyone!!! Yihaa..It's already 2012.
What's ur new goal?? 2011 is an awesome year for me since I've known 'bout papercraft and all related to it.
Getting into an exhibition, great colaboration, an interview, and all related to toy designs are an aWOWsome.
So, let's start a greater dream and achievement this year!!!

Well, I wanna share a pic from Paper Replika Indonesia's event . It aired on TV - music programme called Dahsyat, RCTI (Dec 25th 2011, Xmas day).
They brought my Santa Claus Calendar and thanks to Fajar whom told me 'bout it :D...

See above is my Santa (man with green jacket brought it). I don't own this photo. It's on the backstage of the music programme. And there's a band called 'Garasi' together with 'PERI" team.

In the center is Olga, the presenter of the programme, well-known artist in Indonesia.

Feel proud about it, but still - I regretted that I didn't watch it, totally forgot it ahhh :(.

Another pics that I wanna share is a papertoy (K-pop papertoy still attack (◦'⌣'◦ )). This one is requested (commercial one :D)

It's fun 'coz the detailed parts and layered jackets are finally done..Ahayyy..

Renowned designers such as Karim Rashid, Heath Nash, Florence Béal-Nénakwé, Carlos Miele, Mathilde Nivet, Coco, Jenny J and Christopher Labrooy also played an important role. Their involvement helped to increase media exposure for the event.Hundreds of C-Myk were exhibited in London and more than 40 were sold during the four days of the exhibition. The funds raised during the exhibition and all the collected C-Myk worthing 6350€ were donated to the UNESCO. The funds raised during the exhibition supported The « Award of Excellence for Handicrafts » programme that helps local and talented artisan of the world to participate at international events like Maison & Objet in Paris.

Harlancore and Abz and friends are going to try to make a new kind of papercraft magazine. Before you run off and make a template, you really should read the guidelines first. Once you have, and you find that you like our goals, then please, by all means join. I tried to do this before but I think the new version will be much better. This revision was born out of the live chat we had recently. If you weren't there, we will be doing another again soon, and if time permits we will keep doing live chats every so often. The notice won't always be so short, but sometimes it will. There is no plan, really, other than to have fun.

Yeah, I fell in love with the cuteness of Tokidoki and Charuca.. So, I cropped and tracing some characters of them and put it in my room.

Few months ago I posted my Tokidoki's Sabochan http://joel-j2.blogspot.com/2011/05/sabochan-my-new-vinyl-toy.html . Actually I wanna buy Mozzarella too, but I have to save it eventhough it's cute *_*

Mozzarella is the leader of the Moofia, a gang assembled to extort milk from the lunchboxes of schoolyard bullies. Mozzarella is loving and kind to good kids, but ruthless and feared by those who harass the innocent.

Mozzarella packs tommy gun heat, and comes with a 2.5 inch smiling bullet companion. Originally produced by Strangeco and released in 2006; available now through Tokidoki.

Then I decided to create it on paper..Yes, papertoy!!
Here's the sneak peek of Mozzarella that I've create ... (there's a lot of revisions here and there..hopefully I can finish it soon). Is it cute enough??? (◦'⌣'◦ )

Awww, I wanna share this news too. Since I participated in Arjo Wiggins - Colours' Attack Exhibition then I should've got postcard from that event and also souvenir that memorable but at that time I wasn't interest 'coz the long distance (it's in UK and I'm in Indonesia) but then I contacted by Andrew/Greenelf from NPT that he got it. Ughh so sad that I haven't got it. But then he gave me the picture of it and wanna send it to me.. Yihaaa,,hooorayy!!. Here's mine:

K-pop Papertoys attack!!!

Hola.. As I promised before.. I'm done with the experimental projects using some colors from new paper called 'stardream'.. black,silver and gold, probably next time with another colors (that have a blinky texture)..
And here they are, K-pop attack!!!
Ahaha, they have a nice songs to be heard (in my opinion). K-pop originally come from Korea, there're some managements and lots of boybands and also girlsbands, singing and dancing in a group.
I like them because they're multitalented, the beat, all the live performances are great (no lipsync even they dance ). They're Super Junior, SHINee, SNSD / Girls' Generation that I made for experimental and others.
Their height is about 20 cm.

Here's the detailed 'bout the papertoys that I've made, little bit different from my previous model, a custom /modified from my 4L4Y papertoy and also modified boot from Toy story model that made by Paper-replika.com.

Above is a model from a group called SHINee, I started to hear their song 'Ring Ding Dong' and love them.

They are Onew, Key, Minho, Jonghyun, Taemin. I made Minho's papertoy in 'Lucifer ' MV. If u look closer then you will see that paper is really blinky ^_^, and layered part of shoes & shirt.

The second is: Leeteuk (Super Junior's leader)

If you see my previous blog in the beginning, you'll find another papertoy of Super Junior (a simple one).

They've just released a new album (5th) and the song called 'Mr.Simple', and they now 10 members - Leeteuk, Siwon, Donghae, Ryeowook, Sungmin, Heechul, Yesung, Shindong, Eunhyuk, Kyuhyun, another 3 are Kangin, Hangeng, Kibum with their special reason not included since 4th album.

Above is a model of Leeteuk from Super Junior (from 'No Other' MV), a denim model that u'll find if u look closer and also the gold blinky shoes. I'm being pleased that I can make a layered part of it eventhough some miscolor of shirt and jeans.

Power of Girls!!! Yihaa.. SNSD / Girls' Generation.. I started to love them when I hear 'Mr.Taxi' and "Gee".

They are tough girls when they're dance, consists of 9 members that pretty and fabulous, Taeyeon, Jessica, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona, dan Seohyun.

Actually I wanna make model of Seohyun, but I think it's not like her, maybe one of them , ahahaha.

If u zoom in then u'll find a detailed zip, a blinky part in her shoulder and boots, It's a nice costumes for them I guess ^_^

If u can seee the details, then u will see the texture of the package looks like velvet.. A glamorous queen has been created ;p and ready to London.. She said: "Let's meet the real Queen" hihihi..

Aha...I booked for a book called "We are Paper Toys" few weeks ago and finally I got in my hand. HarperCollins Publishers: Louis Bou's new book “We Are Paper Toys: Print-Cut-Fold-Glue-Fun.

This book features 32 of the most popular and well known paper toy designers and customizers today. There's a CD included inside the book consists of all the templates from each papertoy artist. You should have this one.. It's a marvelous one how they create papertoy.. I'm a big fans to some of them and a new fans to another.

3 Papertoy artists from Indonesia are in this book ♪(*^_^*) cc: @salazad, @dyadicisme, @_thunderpanda_

Another two awesome books are Papertoy Monster by Brian Castleforte and Urban Paper by Matt Hawkins. Hopefully I can get them someday ^__^ and also meet the artists.

Ahahaha.. I participated in a 'little' contest held by Kepala Kardus, Hatefuel, Docilus, Seed Sick Shit / 666.
Visit their links and you will get amazed by their illustrations :p.. I amazed by them. Support our local artist, yihaaa ^_^.
Their contest is about to custom a 'blank' character. Then, suddenly I want to draw something, yeah..just for fun. to improve my ability to draw ('coz I really don't know am I can draw??).. and here's my creation:

Sabochan - my new vinyl toy ^_^

Finallly... after 3 weeks I got mine.. Sabochan is one of Cactus Friends (Characters from Tokidoki by Simone Legno).
OMG!!! They're super cute...I got lil' bit confused when I have to buy a new toy to decorate my desk. Firstly, I curious 'bout this toy then I bought the Moofia gang (it's cheaper than else..arrgghhh, should have enough savings next time) from Plastic Culture, Jakarta. What makes me more curious? yeah, the moofia minions made of plastic.. (I think so). I wanna find out the vinyl is so.. I decide to bought Sabochan..actually I wanna buy the Mozarella too (leader from Moofia gang) but many considerations then I choose Sabochan (coz it's more detail :p). I tempted to buy the TOKIDOKI when I already read the Babyboss Magazine (design & art from Indonesia, mostly Urban art).

Things that makes me get interested is about the story behind its name and characters. Tokidoki means "sometimes" in Japanese --> because everyone waits for moments that change one's destiny. By simple chance or meeting a new person, tokidoki is the hope, the hidden energy everyone has inside that gives us the strength to face a new day and dream something positive, that something magical will happen to us.

The cactus is a sign of protection. Kids are naive and vulnerable and need protection. Its zip themselves into cactus suits because they think the world is a cold and scary place, and they need some armor to face it. The cactus is conserver of water, and water means life. The Cactus Friends for Simone Legno are the representation of life, of being fragile and strong at the same time..and pure like water..

I've already have them - Latte, Soya and Sabochan...yayyy.. I bought Sabochan from Play Imaginative, Singapore.. They have many stuffs that u should have too ^^ Collectible toys..
Lil' bit disappointed 'bout the colour and the zip are not same with my imagination.. but it's okay.. Love it!!

Diamond Queen is selected in “C-Myk by Pop'Set” Exhibition - London

Yeah, I was thinking about something that gonna makes me celebrate 1 YEAR BLOGGING..
This new experience for me, since I have 'low' knowledge about technology and design.. But I wanna learn and learn, get to know more and more. So I should celebrate this one year blogging, and here it comes....
I'm getting shocked with an email that my papertoy got selected to be revealed during the “C-Myk by Pop'Set” exhibition at the Dray Walk Gallery from 1st to 4th of July 2011, as part of the New Blood exhibition, a creative
festival for emerging talent, organized by D&AD (Design &Art Direction) in London.

It's such an honor for me to be revealed in this big event..
Story behind the Diamond Queen is: Its shape just like a diamond in my imagination, then I get inspired by The Royal Wedding ^_^.. Diamond is a woman's bestfriend, so do the Queen. So I create this 'Queen' with all the 'blinky' jewelries (earings, crown, rings, robe)

Holaaa... It's been already May... Whatsapp, fellas?

This month is Surabaya's birthday so there is "Surabaya Shopping Festival".. Ughhh, can't imagine how my windows shopping can turns into big real shopping (coz' there's too many discounts)..huhuhu.. Stop!!! I have to save some money for another expenses.. Help me through this temptation, God ^^ ahahaha.

Yeap, this time I wanna share my custom idea for "Colours' Attack Contest" by Popset Paper. This template is made by Shin Tanaka, yeah he is known as successfull Papertoy Artist (His creation 'T-boy" turns into vinyl toy). Actually I passed this contest coz there's no one idea that accross my head. And then suddenly I keep my eye on then I realize that this "Cmy-k " 's shape just like diamond..

Woohooo, yess!! then I create this one a Diamond Queen, sit at her throne.

Hopefully this " Queen" can be shown at London in June.. Yihaaa!!!

Another thing that I wanna share with you is my new Moofia gang from Tokidoki

Its height about 3".. Those are cute, really makes me happy. I wanna buy another toy from Tokidoki. You just can smile while working ^_^.. They packaged in blind box, this also makes me wondering and get surprised when I got Latte and Soya, I got them from Plastic Culture in Jakarta. Hmm, maybe not as good as I imagine but I must say that they sooooo cute and make my day so colourful, Ahay...I will share another toy when it already arrived.

New Stuffs this year & Experimental Paper Project

February...not too late for updating new stuffs that I've bought for this year. After watched 2 awesome concerts in early year then I've decided to buy their album Agnes Monica " Agnes is my name" there are 12 songs.. really enjoy this album eventhough just 2 new songs, others are from previous albums --> best of agnes monica. I've bought this from KFC, with many question mark, where the Cd's and then ask the cashier, they give me some cd's to pick one of them.Yayyy!!!!

The second is Sidney Mohede, gospel artist "Louder Than Life" It's DVD, a live recording at JPCC 24 songs.. It celebrate 20th year of his ministry. What a great songs of heaven!!! Really enjoy to sing along, worship together, really touch your deepest heart..

Another one is from one of my friend's clothing TEE 41
He provides many T-shirt and another apparel mostly about character design..Love them!! but I have to pick one, coz I have save some money to buy others. Visit their link to buy http://www.tee41.com/

Ah, this one I want to share to you.. This experimental paper project. I use this gold paper. Actually I create this a month ago when I were watching Agnes Monica's concert but I don't have enough time to finish it.

I've been told by Nick that in January 19-21 ECKO (clothing line) will held an exhibition in Germany and here is the poster (I took it from Nick's page on Facebook )

Two concerts in a week & Submission to get IPad

Hola hola... I've got a great weekend!!! Syubidu bidu..
In January 8th ~ I attended a great concert "Agnes Monica" , she's young talented actress & singer from Indonesia, she is one of the red carpet co-host in American Music Award 2010.

In January 12th ~ I attended & worship Lord Jesus together with Sidney Mohede (a talented songwriter & singer). There are Choky-guitarist from Netral band (who sing " Garuda di dadaku") and also Igor aka Saykoji (great rapper in Indonesia)... It was such a fun an d wonderful moment.

I captured some pictures in NeZ's concert but not in the second concert because it is prohibitted (I have them in my handphone in bad quality).. But it's still amazing and great experience for me.

Another great news is Gantibajudotcom bekerja sama dengan XL - provider telecommunication in Indonesia

mengadakan kompetisi desain T-shirt dengan hadiah Ipad...wooghh..

Temanya tentang Finding XouLmate (berkaitan dengan hari Valentine di bulan Februari nanti jadi kaos couple gitu)

Hmmm, I wanna share some of my collaboration project with one of my friend, he starts to love photography and would like to editing the photos. And I would love to do something different, I start to love photo editing and would try it. After I read some of tutorials then I decide to practice with it.

I've made a design for another t-shirt competition before this year ends. But, I don't know whether my submission be accepted or not. But I try to realize what coming in my imagination. The theme is "Parampaa Land" in Gantibajudotcom. It's the first creative clothing line in Indonesia based on community within Indonesian originality. Parampaa is a quiz in Indonesia, best games at sparx up award 2010 Parampaa. I try to play it ^^. It's difficult to the higher level :p .The Keyword for the design: fun, simple, playful, puzzle, hijau, rounded, monster, detail dan delightful. And I've decided to make this:

In parampaa land, they live with their daily activites and their hobbies.

Perkenalkan dancer ini namanya J'Lie dia warga keturunan tapi tetep warga negara Indonesia koq.

Kan negara kita terkenal dengan Colorful Indonesia, jadi macem2 sukunya tp tetep satu jua.

Karakter J'Lie:

- Dia suka menari, karena dia masih beranjak remaja maka kesukaannya menari hip hop, menurutnya keren kalo bisa nari kayak gitu.

Badan gerak smua dr atas smp bawah. Tapi dia gak cm suka hip-hop looo, dia suka mix dengan traditional dance (tangan nya tuhh bisa puter2)

- Penampilannya emang jadi terkesan ngikutin gaya kebarat2an gitu..Tapi sebenarnya dia ingin menunjukkan bahwa kebudayaan kita tuch juga gak kalah top

ama punyanya orang barat. Kan untuk mempengaruhi anak muda yg laen harus bikin sesuatu yg mereka suka dulu. Yeap, anak muda jaman skrg kan suka style

When I Become A Designer

I remembered when I was in college.. I become layouter in campus magazine. It's challenging for me.
And few months ago, I've decided to transforming into 'Designer' in an offset & printing agency. Yeah, maybe not great as my brother B Sign Advertising but this another challenge for me. And of course fun, it boost my experience and found that Experience is Expensive, also Study is.
Whoaaa, many mistakes and also revision here and there but satisfied enough when the client says "Good, I like it".. And here are some of them:

I would like to create new paper toy with different shape from my last db (drummer boy).
It called Al4Y...ahahaha... You can googling what is Al4Y.

Alay in Indonesia is an acronym for Anak Layangan (Children kites). Dominant, this term to describe children who quasi-cool, a fashion, the works (music) and general behavior. It is said that these origins, Alay means "village boy", because the child is an average village with red hair and dark brown-skinned as most playing kites.
There's another characteristics too. In another time I will share it.

Above is a model that I would love to make a prototype for my papertoy with unique shape (I hope so) ^_^

Ughhh..long time no blogging.
For a few weeks, I was busy with activity as a designer in an advertising. This is a firsthand experience to me. Actually just wanted to explore the capabilities and creativity because I am interested to start designing like my brother did.

Meanwhile, to the papertoys world that has long not touch I had an idea that could be considered a personal project, want to really draw a character. hopefully can be resolved. The following is a sneak peek from my personal project of paper toy:

J2 comes from my nickname Joel - Joel / Jul - Jul and then I got the idea transform it into papertoys and is identical with my name, two names emerged as well, one boy, one girl.Could think of a name that sounds Indonesia but have not found so I use John & Jane.Well, if there is idle time I will be working on this project personal

Papercraft Competition

This is the first time for me to get involved in paper craft competition. This event was held in SPI (Supermall Pakuwon Indah) - Surabaya - East Java - Indonesia.
The theme is Indonesian Herritage. And I think about make "Dalang and Sinden"..they are can be categorized as man and woman behind the scene in a Puppet Show.

Dalang is a director, scriptwriter, a narrator, a character player, composer accompaniment, a "singer", stylists performances, dancers and others. In conclusion puppeteer is a person who has the dual capability, and also a manager, at least a leader in the show for its members (singer and pengrawit)

Pesinden also often called sinden, according to Ki Joko Raharjo Mujoko derived from the word "pasindhian" which means rich or who sang a song (singing songs). Sinden also called waranggana or sinden "Wara" means a person was a female, and "anggana" means alone. In ancient times waranggana or sinden is the only woman in the puppet stage or stage performances klenengan.

Behind the story:

Inspired by the Opera Van Java, which is one successful event grabbed the attention of Indonesian society.

By highlighting one of Indonesia's culture, and events with more modern packaging was also brought positive effects to introduce to the younger generation about the Indonesian culture.

And here's my creation:

This amazing stage is built by my brother, his concept and his help make my imagination comes true.

Pada awalnya, aku memandang Tuhan sebagai seorang pengamat; seorang hakim yang mencatat segala kesalahanku, sebagai bahan pertimbangan apakah aku akan dimasukkan ke surga atau dicampakkan ke dalam neraka pada saat aku mati. Dia terasa jauh sekali, seperti seorang raja. Aku tahu Dia melalui gambar-gambar- Nya, tetapi aku tidak mengenal-Nya.

Ketika aku bertemu Yesus, pandanganku berubah.
Hidupku menjadi bagaikan sebuah arena balap sepeda, tetapi sepedanya adalah sepeda tandem, dan aku tahu bahwa Yesus duduk di belakang, membantu aku mengayuh pedal sepeda.

Aku tidak tahu sejak kapan Yesus mengajakku bertukar tempat, tetapi sejak itu hidupku jadi berubah.
Saat aku pegang kendali, aku tahu jalannya.
Terasa membosankan, tetapi lebih dapat diprediksi … biasanya, hal itu tak berlangsung lama.

Tetapi, saat Yesus kembali pegang kendali, Ia tahu jalan yang panjang dan menyenangkan.
Ia membawaku mendaki gunung, juga melewati batu-batu karang yang terjal dengan kecepatan yang menegangkan.
Saat-saat seperti itu, aku hanya bisa menggantungkan diriku sepenuhnya pada-Nya!
Terkadang rasanya seperti sesuatu yang 'gila', tetapi Ia berkata, 'Ayo, kayuh terus pedalnya!'

Kadang Aku takut, khawatir dan bertanya, 'Aku mau dibawa ke mana?'
Yesus tertawa dan tak menjawab, dan aku mulai belajar percaya.
Aku melupakan kehidupan yang membosankan dan memasuki suatu petualangan baru yang mencengangkan.
Dan ket ika aku berkata, 'AKU TAKUT !' Yesus menurunkan kecepatan, mengayuh santai sambil menggenggam tanganku.

Ia membawaku kepada orang-orang yang menyediakan hadiah-hadiah yang aku perlukan …
orang-orang itu membantu menyembuhkan aku, mereka menerimaku dan memberiku sukacita. Mereka membekaliku dengan hal-hal yang aku perlukan untuk melanjutkan perjalanan … perjalananku bersama Tuhanku. Lalu, kami pun kembali mengayuh sepeda kami.

Aku belajar bahwa ternyata memberi adalah sesuatu yang membahagiakan.

Pada mulanya, aku tidak ingin mempercayakan hidupku sepenuhnya kepadaNya.
Aku takut Ia menjadikan hidupku berantakan; tetapi Yesus tahu rahasia mengayuh sepeda.
Ia tahu bagaimana menikung di tikungan tajam, Ia tahu bagaimana melompati batu karang yang tinggi, Ia tahu bagaimana terbang untuk m emp ercepat melewati tempat-tempat yang menakutkan.
Aku belajar untuk diam sementara terus mengayuh … menikmati pemandangan dan semilir angin sepoi-sepoi yang menerpa wajahku selama perjalanan bersama Sahabatku yang setia: Yesus Kristus.

Dan ket ika aku tidak tahu apa lagi yang harus aku lakukan,
Yesus akan tersenyum dan berkata …
'Mengayuhlah terus, Aku bersamamu.'

D-astor (D is for dekade) means 10 years of 'asisten tutorial'.
It was just a great moment when you share ur life with other people..help them to get out from the darkness or maybe hopeless in this meaningful life..
And this community get reunion last friday until sunday.. it is such a pleasant moment in my life ^^ when we share each other, and be blessed also blessing. We should have it periodically...
I remember in the past I made this for this community, how proud that they still keep it and share with junior student in Petra Christian University.

Eventhough I'm not from design department, but I like to do something new and I like Art.
My roommates are in design department and my brother also.
Haha.. It seems interesting for me.

And at that moment, I knew about scrapbook. But it's too complicated 4 me to do coz' I don't have much time to scrap.. Then, I've found DIGITAL SCRAPBOOKING.. wohohoho..
